The 3 of you that actually follow this blog have probably noticed I’ve been on extended hiatus. Or maybe not.
I started this blog back when I had a lot more time on my hands. I enjoyed the outlet that blogging provided – chronicling dishes (both good and bad), writing about different restaurants here in Chicago and elsewhere and connecting to other bloggers.
As with so many other folks, food is a passion for me. Everything about food triggers some deep connection within me that I feel compelled to share in some way – from the deliberate ritual of slicing a tomato, that first spoonful of homemade soup on a cold winter day, the instant memories that come to mind when eating a cake my mom has always made. Or, even just finding excuses to go to the grocery store (I know I’m not the only one who does this).
But, as happens, life got in the way. Work became a lot more busy and priorities changed.
In all honesty, I’ve also enjoyed my time away from blogging. But I never really gave it up in my head and would think about specific dishes, certain ingredients, fun restaurants that left really great impressions.
I’ve recently gotten inspired again with different food and from others within the blogging community. I’ve also forced myself to really think about the intent of this blog and what I want to do with it. And what I want to get out of it. And, while I’m not sure I have a lot of answers for these questions, I figure the best thing is to just start blogging again.
With all this in mind, I’m coming back around and will be posting again soon. Stay tuned – and stay hungry!
