Some of the most recognizable landmark buildings downtown, in River North. Also nicknamed the ‘Corncob Towers’ for obvious visual similarities, the buildings were built in the early ’60′s and are great examples of mid-century modern architecture. Read more about them on their Wiki-page.

We have often stayed at the old House of Blues hotel, now the the Sax Hotel(?). It’s a great location – real close to good shopping (filenes basement, nordstroms rack, loehmanns) etc. great city you have!
Yes – Hotel Sax apparently is the former House of Blues hotel. There’s also a great wine and cheese bar called Bin 36 – went there for a birthday party a couple years ago. And right on the other side of the river on State is the Wit hotel, Chicago theater and all that great shopping. It really is a fun area!
